Empties Skincare Review | Happy New Month! My November Beauty Favourites

Quote of the day: "I will increase the number of people and animals living on you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the Lord."- Ezekiel 36:11

Dear blog reader, I have thought about you for everyday since my last post here and words have failed me, until now. Saying thank you is an understatement because you are very special to me; but I'll say it anyway, thank you. Thank you for coming every day even though you don't comment. My analytics show me come around, and I am grateful. I have been very engaged with work and some important things in the real world.

Today I'm talking about some empty beauty products (mainly skincare) I have used, and what I think.
The following are my November beauty favourites, just like the heading of this post states. None of these products were sent to me, this is not a sponsored blog post. My thoughts are solely based on my experience.

I can only hope you enjoy my future posts. They are journal like, and the tea on what my day was like.

You can find me on social media @lilyofnigeria and let me know what you think of these products in the comment section.

Dove Satin Smooth Body Oil
If you are wondering where you saw this Dove bottle it was probably from this youTube video I shot a while back click to see it again here I will not be purchasing this product, I didn't see any spectacular thing it did for my skin. Thank God it's almost finished. I'm going to use the remaining to get rid of my matte lipstick that only comes off with an oil based remover.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
I bought this product to see how it would work with my skin, and to say the least, I am in love with this product. It was a match made in skin heaven, and I cannot complain. Since purchasing this one, I've gone out to stock up one two more just in case.

Vitamin C Oil
I absolutely love this oil. I've been mincing it since I came here. I use it at night to lock in my moisturiser on my face. Do your research before going to grab a bottle. From my research, Vitamin C and Vitamin A don't mix in skincare so whenever I apply this, I avoid any product with Vitamin A like the plague and vice versa. I bought it from Mama Tega's shop in Yaba, Lagos for N2000 or thereabout (sorry I can't remember). It has a very citrusy smell sometimes I apply the little amount left on my hands to my edges.

Mitvana Anti Aging
If there was a picture in the Nigerian slangs dictionary for the phrase used to the fullest maximum, it would be one of these photos below. I literally cleaned out this container! It was soooo good. I loved this lush feeling on my skin, it's really hydrating and I did see a difference with my eye area when I travelled back and forth to Ogbomoso. I bought this product from Spar Tejuoso Yaba. I think it was N1500... However, I won't be repurchasing it because I no longer need it. That Oyo stress is behind me forever in Jesus name, amen. Mitvana also has a shampoo I use, it is GOOD! I love it.

Sunscreen
I bought this product from Mama Tega (to be honest when I'm in Lagos that is my spot for beauty products, I trust her to have the best in stock, and her products are affordable there is something for everybody there, she didn't tell me to say that). I just started using this product consistently and I can see a difference in my face. I wish I started earlier.

Dove Sensitive Skin Micellar Water
After watching endless videos on youtube and reading skincare blog posts and Facebook posts I knew I was no longer going to use bar soap for my skin. I was advised to get one soap like that (the soap was a FAIL because it did not do what the vendor said it would do, I will not mention the brand so that I don't kill their business, unless you want me to). was to look for a shower liquid without harmful ingredients, and one mindful of sensitive skin. I was pleasantly surprised to come across this product since I was already using the Garnier micellar water below. I thoroughly enjoyed bathing with this, it was sooo good that I had to squeeze out the remaining liquid as you can see below (I might still cut it open, don't laugh if you're Nigerian you know this is how we roll ain't nobody gat time).

Yes I still watch cartoons, I will never stop. I'm also a big muppets fan, thus the Animal house coat you can see me wearing.

Simple Micellar Water Shower Gel
So, after the dove micellar water above finished, I got curious to try another brand's version, and ended up with this. I liked it, but I will not repurchase it. I bought another version from the same brand today. I'll let you know how that goes when I do a December favourites post.

Dove Invisible Dry Anti Perspirant
Initially, I had my reservations about this product, but it has proved me wrong. I will definitely be sticking to this throughout my time here, and beyond.
I opened it so that you can see I actually use it.

As I was creating this post, I noticed that I had a lot of Dove products. Unilever how about a brand endorsement?

  1. I love your write up. About your 'epic fail' soap, I have come to realize that no product works for all... That soap might be someone's favorite. Am happy you found a sunscreen that works for you. For me, I am still very much in the hunt for the right 'one' (smiles). My November favorite is a black soap and Shea oil (from a naija brand) I purchased online. So heavenly. I can't wait to read your best beauty buys for the year. Much love

    1. Hi, thank you for coming.
😂😂 I said the the soap was a "fail", not necessarily an "epic fail" like you quoted. It was my own experience, and I figured someone else might like the soap that was why I didn't leave the name of the brand.
I hope you find the sunscreen that works for you.
      All the best!
