GRACE AND BUTTERFLIES

Quote of the Day: Many are the Afflictions of the Righteous, but the LORD Delivers Him from them All.- Psalm 34:19

You are highly welcome to today's post. After all the hard work I put into typing the first one, the stupid google application for Blogger I was using froze and deleted everything I had put together. I was frustrated, and decided to cool off. Thus, the time difference as promised here

Most of you probably came here because of yesterday's Facebook, and Instagram post. Welcome, I recommend that you look around the blog, and read other posts as well after this one.

Sometime ago, my friend Ola and I met up. She had just come back from Russia and suggested that we meet up ASAP. I agreed, I was so excited to see her after almost six years. We agreed to meetup on a Sunday. I suggested a fairly secure waterside location in Victoria Island that we were both familiar with, and one that our parents were very sure of; one I had been longing to see for myself and Ola agreed.

In true fashion, I had no clue what I was going to wear. To be honest, I settled on my outfit the day of the meet up. After an instagram poll and considering the fact that I had to go for evening Mass after the meet up. I brushed my hair, and packed it backwards as you will see below.

What do you think about this wrist watch by Longines? I put it on last minute. Are you a fan of wrist watches?

The menu was a pleasant surprise, and very affordable compared to most restaurants in Victoria Island, and the Island in general.

I got a glass of Chapman and peppered gizzard, while Ola ordered a Pinacolada and wings.

Can you guess which one's mine?

 WHAT I WORE
I wore a purple, African print(Anakara) butterfly dress that my aunt made for me. So if y'all are interested in getting yours, feel free to email me. My earrings were also made by another aunt of mine. What can I say, I come from a long line of successful business women.
For a fuller version of the gown where I'm standing is available at my instastory BTS highlight, so be sure to check it out.

I paired my gown with these nude coloured patent pointed court shoes from New Look. You can buy them by clicking here
The heels are super comfy, and did not pinch my toes at all(probably because the ones I bought are size bigger than my normal shoe size). My good ol' shoe pads came in handy, and they did not slip off.  I fell in love with these shoes because of how pointy they are. And they could also pass for work shoes as well, totally conference worthy.

Fashion Tip: Pointy heels give the illusion of  leaner, longer legs.
My black petite handbag I thrifted came in handy. Instead of tying my scarf around my head, I tied it around the strap of the bag.

Y'all are probably here for the tea so I might as well get down to it. It has taken me about four weeks to get myself together. I was a mental wreck when this incident happened, thank God i'm better. All the memories of the good times Ola and I had on this day were paused, for weeks until my father in Heaven helped me snap back.

I have been advised not to share more than this because social media is a place where everything stays forever, nothing really ever goes away once you put it out there. And, I don't want to keep reliving this memory, I want to move on with my life, and live. It was an incident only Jesus himself could have handled.

Do you have any ideas for a meet up? And, what places do you visit regularly where you live? Please share them with me below.

Thank you for reading, may evil be very far from you this new week, and beyond.
God bless you in Jesus name.

Your Friend Alexandra,
For Lily of Nigeria.
