GROWING APART| Tips to Help You Fix Your Friendship

Hello Lovelies, Welcome to today’s post. It rained cats and dogs yesterday so the weather here in Lagos is subtle and cool. What’s the weather like where you live? Today’s post is not a fashion post per se, it’s more of a lifestyle post. If you follow me on Instagram here (please go and do so now), you may/may not have seen my most recent post; where I gave you babes a heads up on today’s post. Please turn on post notification at the top right corner of my page so that you never miss another post from me, the new algorithm is a mess but there’s hope. 1.     Call them : Try to reach out to them. Nothing brings back memories than hearing your friend’s voice. Distance should never be an issue in friendships that mean that world to you; unless you see this as an opportunity to cut off ties with that person. 2.        Make A Plan To See Them Eye To Eye : You can pick a mutual location you both enjoy, or one you have been longing to visit and meet up there. TIP: Y

GRACE AND BUTTERFLIES

Quote of the Day: Many are the Afflictions of the Righteous, but the LORD Delivers Him from them All.- Psalm 34:19 You are highly welcome to today's post. After all the hard work I put into typing the first one, the stupid google application for Blogger I was using froze and deleted everything I had put together. I was frustrated, and decided to cool off. Thus, the time difference as promised here   Most of you probably came here because of yesterday's Facebook, and Instagram post. Welcome, I recommend that you look around the blog, and read other posts as well after this one. Sometime ago, my friend Ola and I met up. She had just come back from Russia and suggested that we meet up ASAP. I agreed, I was so excited to see her after almost six years. We agreed to meetup on a Sunday. I suggested a fairly secure waterside location in Victoria Island that we were both familiar with, and one that our parents were very sure of; one I had been longing to see for mysel

AN HONEST REVIEW OF ASWANI MARKET LAGOS- MY EXPERIENCE

Quote of the Day : S eek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto you. Hi, dolls! Welcome to today's post. How are you doing? Forgive me for the long time no post here on the blog I've been very busy in the non-virtual world. If you follow me on Instagram you would have noticed the hiatus there as well. It's been one thing or the other for your girl Lily of Nigeria , but our God is faithful to the pulling down of strongholds. Aswani is one of the most popular second-hand market (aka bend down select ) in Lagos. My curiosity about Aswani market began last year when someone talked about it in a passing small talk. It wasn’t the first time I had heard of the market. I grew up(for a while in FESTAC town) so I knew the market existed, but I had never been there. I made up my mind to go and see for myself. You know your girl is a curious-kitty with a heart that constantly longs for adventures. So, I discuss

IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO START A BLOG | 8 Tips for New Bloggers on How to Start a Blog and Take it to the Next Level

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings ; he shall not stand before mean men .- Proverbs 22:29. Hi guys! Welcome to today's post. Get some hot chocolate or a cold drink to sip as you read, it's a fairly long post. When I started out blogging I was desperate for a creative outlet because I am passionate about the arts.  However, with time and because I've invested a lot of time and money into this, I began to drift towards the concept that I can make a living out of my hobby(isn’t that everyone’s dream?) The question as to whether or not starting a blog in 2018 is late will have have a lot of answers from different folks. I feel that starting a blog now is both harder, and easier. It is harder because the competition is steep, and you must stand out and be consistent in publishing quality content for your audience. It’s easier now because a lot of things have been simplified. And, there are a lot of bloggers out there willing

It's a Mukbang video, so i am not expecting all of you to like it. But, just in case you want to take a peek (please help your girl by subscribing to my channel), I will leave a link below for you. So, a mukbang is a video where people cook(sometimes), and eat. Basically you watch people eat large/medium amounts of food over the internet. Some t

HAPPY 2018!

Hey guys! Welcome to 2018(I know i'm late it's the 17th day after all). Y'all, we are now live on www.lilyofnigeria.com ! The domain was a present. I also changed the theme of the blog to one that loads faster, and consumes less data (less than 2MB) at the homepage. All for you. I recorded a lot of successes on this blog last year, and a major heartbreak. Along the line, my host company and the domain company had serious glitches that caused this blog to load very slowly, and on some browsers, it didn't load at all. This was a heavy burden to bear and discouraged me from blogging as often as I would have hoped. I have continued to meet a lot of people, and brands as a result of this blog, for which I am grateful. If you are a regular here on the blog, you'll know we don't do resolutions, we do goals. This year, I have some serious goals set for Lily of Nigeria, and I hope I achieve them. All of them. Click to Follow Me on Bloglovin Also, just in

How to Organize and Declutter Your Wardrobe

Quote of the day: Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.- Hebrew 4:16. Good day my lovelies! Today's post is one some of you might relate to.  Before we delve in, I’m curious, drop a comment and let me know how you arrange/organize your own wardrobe. I learned that certain people can tell a bit of your personality based on how you maintain your wardrobe (wonder if that's true). My current wardrobe is divided into three major spaces. The right and left wing were made for hanging clothes, while the middle section was made for folded clothes, shoes, bags and toiletries (at least that's what I use it for). Each pair of shoe is cleaned and put in a bag, and kept at the bottom of the middle wardrobe. I also keep my polish and brush there as well. My bags placed in dust bags and are kept in the middle of the middle wardrobe. Toiletries like perfumes, tissues, w
