Spring Outfit Inspiration Trend | How to Style Leggings and and Oversized Shirt

After all, it is only the mediocre that are always at their best.-Jean Giraudoux

Hello beautiful, thank you for stopping by to read today's post, without your support I won't be a content creator. If you're a brand trying to decide whether or not to work with a Nigerian influencer/content creator like me, please take time to go through my media kit here

Spring is almost here. What flowers are your favourite? Mine are tulips and roses.
Guys, I haven't been regular on instagram because I took some time off to go back to my drawing board. I felt as if I was gradually falling into the pit of being just another instagram blogger and i didn't like that. I was getting lost in the noise, and so I had to withdraw in order to remind myself why I really care enough to share pictures, and captions that mean a lot to me.

Anyway, now that I think I've found my voice I'll give it a go, please follow me here

One of the highlights of this week was when the Nigerian Bobsled team competed at the Pyongyang winter Olympics. I'm super proud of them, they made history as the first ever African team to compete in that sports at that level. Those girls and their behind-the-scenes team are blessed.

Today's outfit inspiration came as I was rounding up with my National Youth Service, and was wondering what to do with the boots(mine weren't branded with the NYSC logo). You can use whatever boots you have in your wardrobe.

The essence of this post is to inspire someone who has boots, an oversized shirt, thick leggings, and doesn't know what to do with/style them.
It must not be the same colours as mine.

About my outfit:
Oversized shirt- Believe it or not, it's a hand me down from my Mom. It's super comfortable.

Boots- My dusted, and cleaned up NYSC Boots.

Thick Leggings/Thights- From Balogun Market, Lagos. I would NEVER wear a see through leggings with something that doesn't completely cover up my bum down to the middle of my thighs. These black leggings are thick as thieves.  no see through for those peeping Tom's, and naughty men.

Where to go- you can totally go out with friends in these, go shopping, have coffee/tea, a casual meet up or stroll.

One thing I'm confused with, is whether I should accessorize this look with a handbag or fashionable backpack. If you were in my shoes what would you pair yours with? Handbag or super fashionable backpack? Tell me in the comments :)

If you enjoyed this post, please be kind enough to share it with your friends and family. You can copy the link and post it to whatever social media platforms you like.

All my Love,
Alexandra, for Lily of Nigeria.

In elk geval, nou ek dink ek het my stem gevind, gee ek dit 'n kans, volg my asseblief hier

Oor my uitrusting:

Oormatige hemp - Glo dit of nie, dit is 'n hand my van my ma af. Dit is super gemaklik.

Stewels-My stof, en skoongemaak NYSC Boots.
Thick Leggings / Thights- Van Balogun Market, Lagos.

As jy in my skoene was, wat sou jy met jou koppel? Handbag of super modieuse rugsak? Vertel my in die kommentaar :)

As jy hierdie pos geniet, wees asseblief vriendelik om dit met jou vriende en familie te deel. Jy kan die skakel kopieer en dit na enige sosiale media platforms wat jy wil, plaas.

Al my liefde,
Alexandra, vir Lily of Nigeria.

GROWING APART| Tips to Help You Fix Your Friendship

Hello Lovelies,
Welcome to today’s post. It rained cats and dogs yesterday so the weather here in Lagos is subtle and cool. What’s the weather like where you live?

Today’s post is not a fashion post per se, it’s more of a lifestyle post. If you follow me on Instagram here (please go and do so now), you may/may not have seen my most recent post; where I gave you babes a heads up on today’s post. Please turn on post notification at the top right corner of my page so that you never miss another post from me, the new algorithm is a mess but there’s hope.

1.Call them: Try to reach out to them. Nothing brings back memories than hearing your friend’s voice. Distance should never be an issue in friendships that mean that world to you; unless you see this as an opportunity to cut off ties with that person.

2.Make A Plan To See Them Eye To Eye: You can pick a mutual location you both enjoy, or one you have been longing to visit and meet up there. TIP: You can write out a list of things you’d li…

AN HONEST REVIEW OF ASWANI MARKET LAGOS- MY EXPERIENCE

Quote of the Day: Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto you.
Hi, dolls! Welcome to today's post. How are you doing? Forgive me for the long time no post here on the blog I've been very busy in the non-virtual world. If you follow me on Instagramyou would have noticed the hiatus there as well. It's been one thing or the other for your girl Lily of Nigeria, but our God is faithful to the pulling down of strongholds.

Aswani is one of the most popular second-hand market (aka bend down select) in Lagos. My curiosity about Aswani market began last year when someone talked about it in a passing small talk. It wasn’t the first time I had heard of the market. I grew up(for a while in FESTAC town) so I knew the market existed, but I had never been there. I made up my mind to go and see for myself. You know your girl is a curious-kitty with a heart that constantly longs for adventures. So, I discussed it with a trusted family m…

SAVIOURS AGAINST DRY SKIN THIS HARMATTAN SEASON/COLD WEATHER | A SKINCARE POST

My mother's people have a saying that the best time to find out if a woman is truly beautiful is during the harmattan season, because you'll get to see her real skin/true beauty.
Happy new month guys! It's that time of the year again when we begin to think of how best to stop our skin from drying out and breaking. You might find this post helpful if you plan on coming to Nigeria/west Africa between November-February.

People in other parts of the world go through winter, West Africans go through the dry and most times unforgiving harmattan. Regardless, the dry season as it is generally called is my favourite season. From dry skin to dusty looking skin to severe cases of broken skin with sores, if you have lived/live in Nigeria then you most likely have a harmattan skin story.
To prepare your skin for this period, it's best you review your beauty regimen and find out what works best for you, and check in with your dermatologist if you have …
